Traci Stover was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She earned a B.F.A. in Painting and Drawing at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and an M.F.A. in Painting and Drawing at The American University in Washington D.C. She taught drawing, painting and 2D Design at the University of Southern Mississippi from 1999-2020.
Stover's paintings, drawings and prints explore forms that are meaningful to her on both a narrative and structural level. She draws inspiration from nature, particularly the flora and fauna of her garden. She is always exploring the relationship between the image, medium and compositional structure.
As a member of The Board of Governor for The Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters, she has served as the Chair of the Visual Arts Award Committee, Vice President of the Board and President of Board.
She is also of member of The Women's Art Collective, a group of professional artists in Hattiesburg, MS who exhibit their work regularly statewide and regionally.
In 2023, she joined Singing River Art Studio in Hattiesburg, where she and her partners exhibit their work and teach workshops and classes.
